Applications of Multi-Axis Sensors Dec 23, 2022

Multi-axis sensor refers to a force sensor that can simultaneously measure more than two directions of force and torque components. In Cartesian coordinate system, force and torque can be decomposed into three components respectively. Therefore, the most complete form of multi-dimensional force is a six-dimensional force/torque sensor, that is, a sensor that can simultaneously measure three force components and three torque components. The widely used multi-dimensional force sensor is such a sensor.

Compared with the uniaxial force sensor, the multi-dimensional force sensor should not only solve the monotonicity and consistency of the measured force component, but also solve the inter-dimensional (inter-axial) interference, dynamic and static calibration, decoupling algorithm and circuit realization in vector operation caused by structural machining. We have thoroughly solved the scientific problems in the research of multi-dimensional force sensors, such as the structural design of elastomer, mechanical property evaluation, vector decoupling algorithm, etc. We have also mastered the core manufacturing technology, and have the ability to design and process from macroscopic machinery to micromachinery. The products cover a full range of two-dimensional to six-dimensional multi-dimensional sensors, with a range from several hundred kilogrammes to dozens of tons, and a number of patented technologies have been obtained in elastomer structure and vector decoupling circuit.

Multi-dimensional force sensors are widely used in robotics, automobile manufacturing, automated assembly line, biomechanics, aerospace, light textile industry and other fields.

The multi-dimensional force sensor can simultaneously detect three force information (Fx, Fy, Fz) in three-dimensional space. Through its control system, it can not only detect and control the grip force of the robot's hand to take the object, but also detect the weight of the object, as well as whether there is sliding and vibration during the grasping operation.

Multi-dimensional force sensor is an important sensor of intelligent robot. It can simultaneously detect the full force information in three-dimensional space (Cartesian coordinate system), namely, three force components and three torque components.
