The stability of force sensor is very important for all kinds of electronic testing machines and force measuring systems, which determines the stability of the whole product and system. At present, there is no unified evaluation standard and test method for the stability of load cells either at home or abroad. Force sensor manufacturers all over the world admit that stability is an important quality index of force sensor, but it is rarely given in the product samples and the use of the book. Because the force sensor is welded seal vacuum nitrogen filling process, many enterprises indicated that the protective seal grade is IP68. Using polyurethane and other potting adhesives to implement blind hole potting, indicating that the protective sealing grade is IP67. However, sensor manufacturers have a common experience. it is not difficult to develop a high accuracy force sensor under the current conditions, but it is very difficult to develop a force sensor with good long-term stability. The quality of force sensors can be controlled in small batch production, but it is difficult to control in large batch production.

The stability of transducers can be divided into three periods: initial instability period, stability period and fatigue instability period. In the initial instability period, the performance of the force sensor fluctuates greatly, which is mainly manifested in the instability of zero point and sensitivity. This is because the elastic element after blank forging, mechanical processing, heat treatment, surface processing, resistance strain gauge paste and pressure curing process, residual stress will be generated in the sensor and rubber layer, with the increase of time the residual stress gradually released, resulting in the unstable performance of the force sensor in the early use.

Generally, before the force sensor leaves the factory, various technical measures and technological means are used to simulate the service conditions, and various stability treatment (also known as artificial aging test) is carried out to make it go through the initial instability period in the production process. In this way, we can minimize the performance fluctuation, and the user has entered a stable working period when the force measuring device is being tested.
